United States Army Veteran World War II
William Brice Allen was born July 25, 1915, in Childress County to James Brice Allen and Myrtle Roach Allen. Brice married Connie McClure on December 25, 1941, in Crosby County.
He is survived by, Judy Beth Allen and friend Jo Forbus, Lubbock; Janie Lynn Allen Andrews Wigley and husband David Wigley; Susan Genelle Allen Gowens and husband Gary Lee Gowens, all of Crosbyton; four grandchildren, Kevin Brice Andrews and wife Elisabeth Andrews of College Station, Kari Diane Andrews Burk and husband Will of Odessa, Jill Denise Gowens Henry and husband Brandon Kyle Henry of Crosbyton, James Lee Gowens and wife Shavonne Brock Gowens of San Angelo; two great-granddaughters, Haley Renee Lawson Henry and Stormy Renae Henry of Crosbyton; three great grandsons, Kyan Andrew Reekeb of Midland, Brock Allen Gowens, and Brice Jackson Gowens of San Angelo.
Brice was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Carol Allen May; his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Brice graduated from Lockney High School in 1933. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1941.

Military service: 1st Infantry, Ft. F.E. Warren, Wyoming 1935-1937. Graduate of Texas A&M, 1941 commissioned into armed forces of the United States as Second lieutenant in the Corp of Engineers. Received training at Engineer School Ft. Belvoir, VA, Assigned to 46 Engineer Regiment Camp Bowie, Texas sent to Motor School, Detroit, Michigan, then to Great Louisiana Manervers Camp Bowie, Brownwood as Assistant Motor Officer. His regiment was sent January 14, 1942, by railroad to Indian Town Gap, Pennsylvania and on January 23, 1942, New York Harbor, convoy of ships for oversea duty. February 27, 1942, dropped anchor Melbourne, Australia entrained for 2000 mile trip, east coast of Australia to Townsville, Queensland where the 46 Engineers built air strips, roads and docks in New Guinea, Port Moresby, Milne Bay, Iron Range & Kiriwina January 1943, assigned as 46th Engineer Motor Pool Officer & promoted to 1st Lt. On March 1944 boarded Liberty Ship landing in San Francisco; Ca USA, Received orders April 1944 for Ft. Belvoir, VA Engineer School assigned Port Motor Pool Officer. Quarters on post and prompted to Captain. December 1944, Honorable discharge, active service January 1946, Active Officer Reserve final discharge April 1953. Active service, reserve and ROTC spanned 18 years.
Brice farmed the "Family Farm" from 1946 to 1985 retiring in Crosbyton.
William Brice Allen United States Army Credits include: American Defense, American Campaign, Asiatic - Pacific Campaign, Presidential Unit Citation, World War II Victory Medal, The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 6 to 7 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton.
In lieu of flowers, family request donations are sent to Crosbyton First Baptist Church or Crosbyton Lions Club.

Connie McClure Allen was born January 24, 1921 on the VA Leonard Ranch in the Mt. Blanco Community, Crosby County to Connie Allen McClure and Maudie Mae Mosley McClure. Connie married William Brice Allen December 25, 1941. She is survived by Judy Beth Allen, & friend Jo Forbus, Lubbock; Janie Lynn Allen Andrews Wigley & husband David Wigley; Susan Genelle Allen Gowens & husband Gary Lee Gowens of Crosbyton. Four grandchildren, Kevin Brice Andrews & wife Elisabeth Andrews, College Station; Kari Diane Andrews, Arlington; Jill Denise Gowens, Crosbyton; and James Lee Gowens & wife Shavonne Brock Gowens, San Angelo. Four great-granddaughters, Haley Renee Lawson Henry, Stormy Renae Henry, Crosbyton; Vivienne Burk, Arlington; and Emerson Elizabeth Gowens of San Angelo. Four great- grandsons, Kyan Andrew Reekeb, Arlington; Brock Allen Gowens, Brice Jackson Gowens, and Burke Lee Gowens, San Angelo.
Connie earned an Associate Degree from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview 1941. She attended Texas Tech University and University of Colorado, Boulder, CO. She taught at Lone Star Elementary School, Lockney; Lakeview Middle School, Hale County; and Crosbyton Elementary School. She volunteered as Nursery Coordinator for 25 years at First Baptist Church Crosbyton and volunteered singing time at Crosbyton Care Center. She served as the Crosby County Republican Party Election Judge, awarded the Women of Distinction by Caprock Girl Scout Council in 1995 and offered a lifetime membership in the Juliette Society sponsored by Girl Scouts, elected President of Crosbyton Chamber of Commerce (1995-1996), chosen Caprock Baptist Associational WMU Director in 1994, made history as the first woman Lion Boss in Crosbyton 1994 � 1996, presided as President of Women for Wayland, given a Life Membership in the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Board, enjoyed active memberships in the Mt. Blanco Study Club, Crosbyton Garden Club, Crosbyton Harmony Club, First Baptist Church, & the Hallelujah Choir.
Connie greatest loves were her daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren, great grand children, her husband Brice, her friends, and members of the Ruth Sunday School Class. Writing, drying flowers, decorating, singing, and making scrapbooks were hobbies.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations sent to the Crosbyton First Baptist Church Bus Fund or the Crosbyton Lions Club.Connie�s family extends a sincere thank you to the staff at Reeves Rhoades Assisted Living for the personal and caring support given to their mother during her last few years.
Visitation scheduled for Wednesday, November 18 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home in Crosbyton, Texas. Funeral Service on Thursday, November 19 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with interment following at the Crosbyton Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
