Annie May Allen of Jacksboro was claimed by death Saturday in Jacksboro Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. She was 91.

Known as Mrs. E. O. Burrows while residing in this community, she taught three years in the McAdoo school system and was an elementary teacher in Crosbyton schools from 1947 until 1960, according to local school records.

She retired in 1960 after 28 years? as an educator and moved to Jacksboro.

Memorial services were at 10 a.m. Monday in Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksboro.

Burial was made in Crosbyton Cemetery.

A Paris, Tex., native, she married Glenn Allen in August 1966.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Douglas Burrows of Crane and Dallas Burrows of Dallas; a daughter, Maurine Anstead of Ralls; a half-brother, Redus Wells of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild.
