Keller Benjamin Verett, 24, of Bryan, died on September 17 as a result of an accident. A memorial service was held on Saturday September 20 at 1:00 pm at Highland Baptist Church at 30th and Maple in Waco. A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Monday September 22 at the Cone Cemetery north of Ralls, Texas. The graveside service was under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ralls, Texas.
Keller was born to Kevin and Kathy Verett on July 12, 1984. He moved to Waco with his parents in 1987. He attended Waco Christian School through the second grade and then was homeschooled by his mother until he graduated from high school. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with BSA Troop 497 while in high school. He attended LeTourneau University, Blinn College and Texas A&M University where he graduated with a degree in Environmental Science in August 2008. Keller was a paramedic and worked for several EMS agencies in the Bryan/College Station area. He also volunteered with Texas A&M University EMS where he served as Chief for the 2007-2008 academic year. Keller recently returned from duty working to assist in the effort to evacuate patients from the Galveston area before Hurricane Ike and then returned to assist with the search and rescue efforts after the hurricane.
Keller was preceded in death by his mother, maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his father Kevin, sisters Katie and Kirsten, brother Kinsey, girlfriend Stefanie Shilts, and many other relatives and friends.

Keller Verett, an EMT-Intermediate from Waco, Texas, has been an active volunteer for TAMU EMS since joining in 2006. Keller served as the EMS Chief for Texas A&M from 2007-2008. Having graduated from Texas A&M University in August (Class of �06) and recently passing his National Registry Paramedic exam, Keller was eager to continue his EMS career as a Licensed Paramedic. In addition to his work with TAMU EMS, he has also served with several other EMS agencies including his current full-time employment with Legacy EMS in Bryan.

Central Texas Man Accidentally Shot, Killed By Roommate
(September 18, 2008)�A College Station man died Wednesday night after his roommate accidentally shot him, police said Thursday.
Keller Benjamin Verett, 24, of College Station, died Wednesday night at College Station Medical Center.
Police said his roommate was showing him an accessory on a gun that was pointed in Verett�s direction when the weapon discharged just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night in the 300 block of Fraternity Row in College Station.
Verett was struck in the head.
Police officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but efforts to save Verett were unsuccessful.
Verett was originally from Waco.
Verett is listed in Texas A&M�s online directory as an EMS volunteer health center technician.
