In Remembrance of

Kathy Verett

Rose Spray

Kathy Verett Kathy Elmyrta King Verett, 51, of Waco, went home to be with Jesus in all His glory on January 2, 2006. She lived by faith in the words of Christ Jesus spoken daily in her heart. Her last moments of being able to speak were spent praising her Lord and proclaiming that He is good and that He works all things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose! A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday January 5 at the Highland Baptist Church building located at 30th and Maple in Waco.

Kathy was born on October 22, 1954 in Ralls, Texas, to Marguerite Graham King and Sam T. King. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1973 and West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1977. She began a career as a registered nurse in Dallas before she was married to Kevin Gene Verett on December 28, 1978. They began their life together in Waco immediately after marriage and Kathy continued to work as a registered nurse until she became a fulltime mother and homemaker with the birth of their first child in 1981. Since then, she devoted herself to keeping her home and making it a place of hospitality that was open to anyone at anytime. She had a passion for her children to know Jesus that led her to homeschool them to help impart a knowledge of Him through her daily life. She was a surrogate mother and sister to many people who came to know her. The fruit of the work of her life is apparent to those who knew her and her family. Her husband, children, relatives and countless people who knew her can all rise and called her blessed.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kevin; daughter Katie Rachel Verett of Lubbock; son Keller Benjamin Verett of Bryan; son Kinsey Joel Verett and daughter Kirsten Elizabeth Verett of Waco; sister Peggy Walker and brother-in-law Tevis of Shallowater; brother Stephen King and sister-in-law Cathy of Dallas; many other relatives; and hundreds of members of the Body of Christ in many places that came to know and love her.

Flowers for the memorial service can be delivered to the Highland Baptist Church building between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on the day of the service. Memorial gifts may be made to Care Net Pregnancy Center of Central Texas in Waco.

Lovingly submitted by Kevin Verett
