Obituary

Last rites for John Stephens Patterson, 50, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Cone Methodist Church. Mr. Ray Forbes, Tulia, officiated assisted by Mr. S.M. Bean, pastor of Cone Methodist Church.

Burial was in Cone Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Patterson, a farmer, moved to Crosby County in 1926 from Lamar County where he was born. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his wife, Oma; four daughters, Mrs. Patsy Jean Jones, Ralls; Mrs. Pansy Ann McCraw, Lovington, NM; Mrs. Oma Christine Shelton, Amarillo, and Mrs. Mary Cloe Mullins, Ralls; a brother, W.D. Ralls; five sisters, Mrs. Olan Marshall, Mrs. George Noble, Mrs. Lilburn Shurbet, and Mrs. W.L. Allison, all of Ralls, and Mrs. Leonard Shelton, Yuma Ariz.; his mother, Mrs. Cloe Patterson, Ralls; and eight grandchildren.

RALLS (Special) — Services for Oma Patterson, 61, of Ralls, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Howard Marcom, pastor, and Elvin Upton, minister of Emma Church of Christ, both officiating.

Burial will be in Cone Cemetery at Cone under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home here.

Mrs. Patterson died about 3:20 a.m. Tuesday in St. Marys Hospital in Lubbock after a brief illness.

The Webb native was a longtime Ralls resident where she was employed by the Ralls school system. She married John Stephen Patterson on Nov. 22, 1934, in Ralls. He died Aug. 1, 1963.

Mrs. Patterson was a member of Ralls First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Jones of San Angelo, Pansy Dunlap of Lovington, NM, Christine Shelton of Amarillo and Mary Mullins of Hollis, Okla.; two brothers, Bill Switzer of Ralls and M.R. Switzer of Amarillo; three sisters, Pearl Reddy of Floydada, Thelma Blackwell of Amarillo and Wanda Chambles of Wichita Falls; and 11 grandchildren.
