Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Cone Methodist church for Carl J. Noble, 57, resident of Crosby county for 48 years, having come here in 1891. He was a County Commissioner and stock farmer. One of the largest crowds ever to attend a funeral in this county was present for the last rites of a beloved citizen.
Noble complained of feeling ill about 2:30 o'clock Tuesday morning, and died a short time later, after awakening his wife. He was born in Collins county. After moving to Crosby county, he worked for a number of years on the Z-Bar-L ranch south of Ralls. In 1903, he was married to Miss Emma Cartwright of Lorenzo. To this union, four sons were born. All live in this section. They are Russell, George, John, and Tom Ed Noble.
He became county commissioner in 1932 and was elected to the same office for four times.
Pall bearers were C.O. Gilbreath, "Rags" Davis, Chester Parish, J.D. Travis, D.C. Flurry, and George James, all of Cone, and Tom O'Dell of Abilene, and R.M. Wheeler of Lorenzo.
Two brothers, Walter Noble of Friona and A. Lee Noble of Pratt, Kansas were present for the funeral. Another Brother, Jesse Noble, lives in Washington.
Noble was a member of the Methodist Church.

RALLS (Special) — Services for Mrs. Emma Noble, 84, of Cone will be held at 4 p.m. today in Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Rev. H.B. Coggin, the Rev. E.R. McGregor and the Elder Joe Jackson, officiating. Burial will be in Cone Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Mrs. Noble died at 11:15 p.m. Monday in Ralls Convalescent Home.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Russell Noble of Ralls and John Noble of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
