Services for Mavis Denton, 82, of Lubbock were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 1990 at Primitive Baptist Church with Elder George Johnson, officiating.
Elders Jim Jackson and Beale Denton assisted, and burial was in Cone Cemetery in Cone under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died at 3:10 a.m. Monday, May 28, 1990 in Lubbock Methodist Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born in Georgetown and grew up in the Cone Community. She married Cy Denton in 1926 in Crosybton. He died in 1979. She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Jack of Idalou; two brothers, H.C. McFarland of Amarillo and Arbrey McFarland of LaPorte; two sisters, Laveta Lanier of Clovis, N.M., and Opal Williams of Moriarty, N.M.; two grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and a great grandson.
