Kirby Leroy Ashley was born on February 25, 1907, in Texas. His father William Austin Ashley was 26 and mother, Ida Lula Terry was 19 when he was born. He had three brothers and one sister. They lived in Van Zandt County where his Mother died and is buried there. Eva May Townsend was born to Lite Washington Townsend and Mae Horton on May 28, 1913 Canton, Van zandt County, Texas.
Funeral services for Kirby Leroy Ashley, 61, a retired farmer, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the First Methodist Church. Rev. H.B. Coggin, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. James Holeman of Lorenzo. Burial was in the Cone Cemetery directed by Carter Funeral Home.
Ashley died at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock following an illness of several weeks.
He moved to the Ralls area in 1947 from Canton.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Royce and Larry Keith both of Ralls, and Wendel Townsend of Lubbock; a daughter Mrs. Patsy Ruth Little of Muleshoe; two brothers, Roy of Dallas and Waymon, whose address is unknown; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Davis of Canton; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were R.L.Martin, V.J. Latham,Lester Cowan, Melford Dendy, J.R. Anstead, O.D. Stephens, Robert Sawyer and Harvey Hancock.

RALLS (Special) — Services for Eva May Ashley, 81, of Ralls will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Morrow, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Cone Cemetery.
Mrs. Ashley died Saturday, Nov. 19, 1994, in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1913, in Van Zandt County. She was a Methodist and a member of the Crosbyton Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a baker and had worked as a pastry cook at Furr´s Cafeteria in Lubbock.
Survivors include three sons, Bill and Larry, both of Ralls, and Wendell of Lubbock; a daughter, Patsy Ruth Little of Kingswood; three brothers, Cecil Townsend of Fort Morgan, Colo., Wayne Townsend of Fort Worth and Waymon Townsend of Midland; a sister, Oma Flowers of Canton; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
