Linda Ann Miller, 80, of Lorenzo, Texas passed away on Sept. 14, 2014. Linda was born on Oct. 14, 1933, in Roxton, Texas, to the parentage of Mae Etta Oats and Charles Hughes. Linda married James Miller on Feb. 14, 1955, and resided in Lorenzo; to this union, five girls and six boys were born.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and spending time with her close friends and family. She had a warm, loving heart, and welcomed everyone to her home with open arms.
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Mae Etta Oats and Charles Hughes; brother, Melvin Williams; sister, Vertia Mae Tyrone; two sons, Robert Johnson and Billy Miller; and one granddaughter, Rhonda Miller.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, James Miller; daughters, Annie Lawson (Billy), Vela Turner (James), Jimmie Lawson (Derrall), Mickey Walls (Tyrone) and Diane Miller (Ray); sons, Dale Miller (Shasuna), Wayne Miller (Lashonda), Raymond Miller (Norma) and Ricky Miller; brothers, Junior Wilkerson, Ben Franklin, John Henry Hughes and Marshall Hughes; a special niece, Annie Williams; special friend, Frances Mitchell; 34 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Lorenzo. Interment will follow in the Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Visitation will be held today, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Griffin Mortuary.
