Carrie Lawson Jackson, 93, of Lorenzo passed away at her residence. She was born Jan. 17, 1917 to Addie Young and Jon Lawson in Huntsville, Texas. Carrie was affectionately referred to by all of her children as "Petie" or "Grama Petie.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Edmond Turner (Linda); two daughters, Emma Lee Chatham (William) and Magic Ford Langston (Sonny); 24 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great grandchildren; special grandson, Bishop Leonard Chatham (Sharon); adopted special grandchildren, Rev. Leonard Barnes (Cheryl); and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Full Armor Ministries. Interment will follow at Lorenzo Cemetery under the direction of Griffin Mortuary.
