Rosie Battle Photo Services for Rosie Scott Battle, 88, of Lorenzo, will be at 1 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2001, at the Lorenzo First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Hankston officiating and Rev. Eugene Gentry assisting.

Burial will be in West Side Cemetery in Lorenzo under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

She died on Monday, January 15, 2001, at Medical Center Hospital in Lancaster, TX.

She married Willie Jack Scott on June 9, 1935. He died in August of 1970.

She then married Charles C. Battle on January 26, 1978, in Lorenzo.

She became a Christian at a very early age in her life at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Clay, TX. Rosa was an active member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for many years until she became ill. She was the Missionary Society President for 40 years in the Caprock District Association. At Mount Pleasant Baptist Church she was the Starlight Bank President, Sunday School Teacher, on the Mothers Board, Missionary President, Deaconess and held many other offices. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a daughter: Retha Jean Turner on July 13, 1974 and a niece Eula Andrews of Los Angeles, California.

Survivors include her husband: Charles C. Battle of Lorenzo; two daughters: Lucy Nelle Watson of Texas City, Texas, and Lenora B. Long of Houston, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
