CROSS TIMBERS GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY was organized in 1977 to provide a forum for those interested in genealogical research and preserving records for the future generations.

Funds raised by the CTGS are used to research, preserve and publish records relating to Cooke County family histories.  As a service to other researchers, CTGS has published several books which are for sale.
For a list of those books - click here.

Our monthly meetings are held in the meeting room of the Landmark Bank (west end on north side).   Meetings are the first Monday of each month at 6 pm except for January and July.  (Landmark Bank is at the corner of California Street & Grand Avenue or 1110 E. California St., Gainesville, TX.)

In April, 2008 the Cross Timbers Genealogical Society became the host of the TXGenWeb Project for Cooke County.
Any family histories you would like to share would be most welcome.

CROSS TIMBERS GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY membership dues is $15.00 yearly per household.   Membership includes The Cross Timbers Post which is published four times a year, March, June, September and December.  All correspondence and material relative to The Cross Timbers Post should be directed to:  The Editor, P.O. Box 197, Gainesville, TX 76241.
