EDEN PIONEER DEAD
H. C. Bunger, 74, Came to Concho in 1880
Eden, Dec 29- H. C. Bunger, 74 years old died at 3:30 o'clock
this morning after an illness of 8 years. Mr. Bunger moved to Concho county from
Illinois in 1880 and located about 15 miles east of Eden where he was living at
the time of his death. he was among the first to see the possibility of
Herefords in Texas and had been breeding purebred and pedigreed Herefords for
the last 35 years. After locating here in the early Eighties, he went into a
partnership with a Mr. Clayton and drove a large flock of sheep over land to the
ranges of West Texas.
In addition to his widow, surviving Mr. Bunger are five sons
and three daughters: Mrs. Joe Eddings of Shawneytown, Ill; Mrs. J. H.
Horseknicht, Mrs. Douglas Farnsworth; Harry, Oscar, Fred, George and David, all
of Eden.
Funeral services were t be conducted from the Methodist
Church at Eden at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon with burial in the Eden cemetery.
The Woodmen of the World service will be used at the cemetery. The Rev. Mr.
Nicholson of the Methodist Church will conduct services. Charles Latham of the
Eden Undertaking Company will have charge of arrangements.
