Meet the Website Coordinator
About the County Coordinator

Hello! I'm Donna Schulte Loth, your website coordinator since January 2013, when I "inherited" this website from former coordinator extraordinaire Wanda Qualls, who did such an admirable job of gathering the information you will find here. We are all indebted to Wanda for the amazing amount of work, time and love she committed to this page, and to all her other county websites, and wish her well. It will take me some time to familiarize myself with this extensive website, and to replace Wanda's name and contact information with mine, but I hope to keep confusion to a minimum and to carry on Wanda's magnificent work as I know she would wish.

ABOUT ME

I was born in Hondo, and raised in Bandera. I currently live south of Seguin, Texas, where I'm happily "retired" and living on a little place in the country with my husband, my daughter and her husband, and my two lively and adorable grandchildren. I have Comal County connections dating back many years, and am just beginning to find out more about them.

My family came to Texas beginning in the mid-1840s, some settling here while Texas was still an independent Republic. My ancestors mainly settled in Medina, Kendall, Comal and Bandera counties. Most came from Germany, but many on my mother's side came from the British Isles via Mississippi, Tennessee and the Virginias. I have spent many years researching both my mother's and my father's family trees. On my mother's side, I am directly related to the Schladoer/Schlador, Mohrhoff, Doehne, Gass, Joiner, Farmer, Gray and Carrigan families. Names on my father's side of the family include Schulte, Gerdes, Reitzer, Lo(e)ssberg, Hartman(n), Senne, Britsch and Nietenhoefer.

In addition to being the Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Gillespie, Guadalupe and Medina County TXGenWeb coordinator, I do quite a bit of volunteer work for Find A Grave.com and BillionGraves.com, as well as genealogical research for friends and family. As time allows, I try to monitor the Rootsweb.com message boards for each of the counties for which I am coordinator.

I hope you enjoy your visit to the Comal County website, and you will let me know if you have any additions, corrections or comments.

Peace...
