Obituary of Lillie Lee Pittman and Oliver Pittman

Lillie Lee Latham Pittman, 85, died at 7:30 am Sunday, April 29, 1984 in her home in Bronte. Funeral Services will be Monday at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church in Bronte with Howard Johnson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Robert Lee Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Bronte.

Mrs. Pittman was born October 18. 1898 in Valley View, Texas in Coke Co. She attended school at Valley View, and married Oliver Pittman April 5, 1922 in Robert Lee. They moved to Bronte in 1923.

She was a housewife and a member of the First Methodist Church.

Suvivors include her husband, Oliver Pittman of Bronte, two sons, Archie and Lawrence, and two daughters, Betty and Patsy, 12 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by two children, Mary Lou and Clyde.

Oliver Lawrence Pittman, 95, died Saturday, Dec 16, 1995, in a San Angelo hospital. Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Robert Lee Cemetery in Robert Lee. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 5, 1900, in Comanche and had lived in Coke County for 75 years.

He had owned and operated the Humble Station and was a Methodist.

Survivors include a son, Archie of Wharton, two daughters, Betty and Pat, both of Bronte; a brother, Codie of McKinney, a sister, Opal of Abilene; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren.
