Dean Cemetery
The Dean Cemetery is located on FM 2393 (Jolly Exit) off of 287. Go north on 2393 about 5 miles from Jolly and the cemetery is on the east side of the road. This is a very sparse cemetery, with many unmarked graves and there are 12 white unmarked metal crosses in this cemetery. The oldest stone that was found was 1921 but there are probably others buried there before that. Transcribed August 27, 2005 by Julie Coley. Note: The First Baptist Church in Dean used to be called Mabeldean Baptist Church. The elders of the church were in charge of the cemetery which used to be called Mabeldean Cemetery and now is just called Dean Cemetery; there is no longer a cemetery called Mabel Dean Baptist Church Cemetery.
