The original cemetery listing was printed with the permission of the 1997 Board of the Boerne Area Historical Preservation Society from a survey of public and private cemeteries done by its members between 1982 and 1985. This information was published by that group in two volumes with the title, "GONE--BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, A Survey of Cemeteries in Boerne and Surrounding Areas."

The first revision was made by combining information from Comfort Cemetery listing in "Gone But Not Forgotten", Volume 2 and a list furnished by the cemetery Sexton, Clarence Burow, in August, 2003.

Additional information was researched in the files of Comfort Heritage Foundation Museum in 2008. This latest update of 2011 is being researched with the help of David Bierman, current president of the Comfort Cemetery Foundation and Comfort Heritage Foundation members, Margaret Morries and Mike Stewart.

UPDATE: Research on the Map of the Cemetery is now complete resulting in location changes of the plots. There will continue to be changes if new information is found.

The CHF cemetery list was compiled from the photos and inventory of the cemetery in preparation for creating a map. Corrections/additions were made to entries found in the CHF Obituary list compiled from the Comfort News. Corrections/additions were made to entries as found in the Comfort Cemetery Book #2 “Location of Graves & Date Died (Made by Otto Holekamp April 1, 1931” There are a few corrections/additions as found in the Comfort Cemetery Book #1 “Grave & Lot Owners—Otto Holekamp—April 1, 1931” Corrections/additions were made to entries as found on the Comfort Cemetery Map Des. & drawn by E. Habecker, L. A. 3-1-1914. Greg Krauter gave CHF the original maps, but someone from the Comfort Cemetery Association made the entries on the various lots on the map.
