time period. He left Amarillo in order to go on the "Oklahoma Land Rush" of 1891

Looking for information on "Red" Clark who used to "ride the range" in
the Panhandle of Texas and possibly owned land there at one time. He married Nancy Davis
and had two children Elbert b Abt 1885 and Estella Mae b Abt 1889. Red and Nancy both died
suddenly while travelling through Van Zandt Co/Kaufman Co Texas in 1890. Nancy Davis Clark
had previously been married to Unknown Lovell and had Ada, Emma or Amma, John, Joe, and
George Lovell. Lovell relatives took in these children but no relatives of Clark or Davis
found so Elbert and Estella Mae raised by unrelated families. "Red" Clark was a
big, burly, red-headed man with military bearing, covered with knife scars. Nancy Davis
may have been of Indian ancestry. They may have travelled from New Mexico just prior to

I am looking for information on the PEARSON family. This family was originally from
Swisher County, but several have settled in Dimmitt, Nazareth and Monahans areas. The
families the females have married into are EHLY (Leo and Amma)and SEVIER (Wiliam and
Mary). I'd appreciate any information on Ophie Pearson, mother to Amma Ehly and Mary
Sevier. She talked to my mother in 1965 about the Pearson family and I wonder if there is

Would like any information on three brothers buried in the Dimmitt cemetery. William
Johnston 1863-1894, Thomas Daniel Johnston (my great grandfather) 1869-1927, Mack
(Malcolm) Gibson Johnston 1879-1959. All were born in Texas. Would like to know more about
their lives in Castro County, occupations, where they lived, any wives, children, cause of
death of William at the young age of 31. I already have basic information on Thomas who
married Frances Warren, had five children, then divorced and moved to Castro County
probably from Hunt County, maybe with his brothers. Also curious about two others buried
beside them, Joe Franks 1870-1890, "killed by horse", and Paskil Breakfield
1877-1893, "orphan".

I am looking for information for my great-grandfather's brother, Maude Rippy. He was shot
on the courthouse steps supposedly in Dimmit around 1920-1922. There was a man named
"Poppin Payne" and either he and/or his family is responsible for this shooting,
however, we don't know whether or not he was ever convicted ot tried in court. Would like

I am seeking information on my greatgrandfather, Herman Estell Ansley, and his family. He
was born in Fowler Texas, October 4, 1896. His parent's names were Jessie A. Ansley and
Anna Elizabeth Hartridge. I would love to hear from anybody that may have some information

Mildred Sheffey died in Castro co. in 1998. I have read some of here research which
details the history of the Sheffy (Sheffey) line in the U.S. Does anyone know if her
research is available for study? I have also heard that someone in Texas wrote a history
of the Sheffey family. Perhaps Mildred was the author. Does anyone have information on
this?

My great grandfather, William R. Jordan, died while visiting in Dimmit, Castro County.
This was most likely about 1928 or earlier. He was buried there rather than being returned
to Leake County, Mississippi, for burial. Is he listed in any cemetery records of that
time?

I am doing a project on Corn Refineries around the nation. I know that the Amstar Plant is
in Dimmitt. I cannot find the date that the plant began to produce high fructose corn
syrup anywhere. Would you have that information, or know of where I could find it? ANy
