Brother Madison H. Wooten was born in the City of Yadkinville, County of Yadkin, State of North Carolina, on September 29, 1846.  He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Wooten, Sr.

On Thursday, December 28, 1876, Brother Wooten was united in marriage to Miss Nancy Jane Reavis the Reverend Samuel May, Baptist Minister, officiating, and to this union were born eleven children, two of whom still survive at this writing.

Brother Wooten was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on May 2, 1881.  He was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on June 4, 1881, and was raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on July 6, 1881, in Yadkinville Lodge No. 162 A.F. & A.M., located at Yadkinville, North Carolina.

Around the year 1900 Brother Wooten and his family left North Carolina and moved to Texas, and settled on Mesquite Creek some six miles north of Lake Victor, Texas, in Burnet County, where he engaged in farming for many years.

On April 19, 1902, Brother Wooten affiliated with Saratoga Lodge No. 546 A.F. & A.M., located at Lampasas, Texas, but in the year 1909, when the Lake Victor Masonic Lodge was geing organized, Brother Wooten demitted from Saratoga Lodge No. 546 on October 23, 1909, and affiliated with the Lake Voctor Lodge No. 1011 A.F. & A.M., as a Charter Member.

Brother Wooten was chosen by the first brethren to be the first Senior Warden of Lake Victor Lodge No. 1011 A.F. & A.M., and he was duly and constitutionally installed as such on January 1, 1910.

On January 10, 1914, Brother Wooten demitted from Lake Victor Lodge No. 1011, and on March 14, 1914, he again affiliated with Saratoga Lodge No. 546 located at Lampasas, Texas.  He remained a member of Saratoga Lodge No. 546 until his death on September 17, 1930.

Brother Wooten was an ardent member of the Baptist Church, and always attended such as long as his health permitted.  He was affectionately known by all as "Grandpa Wooten."  He was buried in the Warner Cemetery near Lake Victor.
