• came to Texas with parents in 1896
• CSA veteran, Serving in Bob Martin's company
• married and had daughters: Mrs. M. M. Nelson of Menard; Mrs. L. M. Nelson of Menard; Mrs. John Barringer of Burnet; Mrs. G. E. Nelson of Bertram; and Mrs. A. V. Oliver of Burnet.
• had 30 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren at time of his death
• died at the age of 102 years, 2 months, and 17 days of age on 29 March 1934
• buried in the Debo Cemetery on Spring Creek
