Mrs. Dunaway is Dead

Mrs. Cynthia Adaline Dunaway died at her home near Fairland last Tuesday morning at an early hour: following an illness extending over a period of several weeks. She was attended by a trained nurse at the time of her death.

Deceased was the wife of Mr. T. J. Dunaway. She was born in the state of Mississippi June 7th, 1862. In 1876, she came to Texas with her parents, where the remainder of her life was spent. For more than a quarter of a century she had been a resident of the Fairland community. Besides her husband Mrs. Dunaway is survived by eight children, four boys and four girls, as follows: J. T., Conley, Webbie, and Dockie Dunaway, all of Fairland. Mrs. Clyde Holland, Mormon Mill, Mrs. Berry Haywood, Fairland, Mrs. Claude Crow, Elgin and Miss Vickie Dunaway, Fairland.

Mrs. Dunaway was a devout christian woman and a true and faithful member of the Baptist church. The large concourse of sorrowing friends at the funeral Tuesday afternoon was a attest of the very high esteem in which she was held by the people in the community where she had resided so long. She had no enemies and her friends were legion, which is the greatest heritage a parent can hand down to posterity. She was a dutiful and kind wife a loving mother and a friend to everybody.

Interment took place at the Fairland cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Rev. C. R. Goodman pastor of the Fairland Baptist church came over from Kingsland, where he is engaged in a meeting, to conduct the funeral service.

Hosts of friends of the Dunaway family join this paper in extending condolence at this time. May we all emulate the life of this worthy servand of God who has been called hence to be rewarded for the good deeds done on earth.
