Our precious boy has passed away, W. T. Blacklock; living in the Bear Creek neighborhood where he had resided for several years. He was married to Lizza Allen on the 29th day of January, 1896. Four children were born to them.
For five or six years he had been afflicted with rheumatism so that he
suffered great pain but bore his suffering with patience. On
Thursday evening about 9 o'clock, May 27th, at his home, he fell asleep
in Jesus. He leaves a wife, four children, father, mother, three
brothers, three sisters, and many relatives and friends to mourn his
death.
He was a loving husband and father, and loved his family and provided for them well. He was 35 years and some months old.
We are assured that being parted from us he has joined loved ones with
Jesus in that home that knows no sorrow. May we so live that when
we are called to go we will be prepared to meet him where we will never
part any more. He had not joined any church on this earth but
joined the church of Christ no doubt a long time back. When but a
small boy he said he loved Jesus and long since he said he was a
Christian. Not long before he left us he gave us evidence of his
hope in Christ.
He was a good and obedient child and was always ready to help the sick
and afflicted and was a law abiding citizen. May the peach of God
rest upon the bereaved ones left behind.
He was laid to rest in the Bear Creek cemetery. Relatives, do ask
the prayers of all Christians to pray for the salvation of these dear
children.
