BIG CAMPMEETING GROUND

There is a rumor to the effect that well know members of the Baptist church in Brewster and Presidio counties are negotiating for a body of land west of Alpine and known as the old Wilson ranch, which is to be used as a permanent site for a campmeeting ground to be operated under the auspices of the Baptist church.

While the promoters have not fully matured their plans, it is backed by men who generally do things. An institution of this kinds would be a great thing for Alpine and it is to be hoped that it will be established before another summer comes.

The people of Alpine who attended the campmeeting last Sunday at L.C. Brite's ranch thirty-five miles southwest of Marfa were: Mesdames H. M. Bandy, J. D. Jackson, J. W. Ferguson, C. W. Ferguson, and J. r. Middlebrook. Misses Una Jackson, Sadie Crawford and Addie Ferguson. Messrs. H. M. Bandy, J. D. Jackson, John Crawford, C. W. Livingston, Murphy, C. W. Ferguson, Ford Jackson, Graham McDonald, Sam Harmon and Clay Harmon.

Note: This campmeeting ground was indeed established and continues to meet each summer until today, growing yearly.
