The Angelina County Genealogical Society (ACGS) was originally organized as the Lufkin Genealogical and Historical Society — a support group for the Ora McMullen Genealogical Room in the Kurth Memorial Library in Lufkin. The Ora McMullen Genealogical Room is one of the best genealogical research libraries outside of large metropolitan areas of Texas. In addition to supporting this impressive genealogical collection, ACGS promotes preservation of Angelina County and Texas records and genealogical education to assist members with their personal family history research.

Membership Information

Membership is for a calendar year, January through December. Dues are $15 per person or $20 for two in the same household. Join by completing the Membership Form (PDF format) or (text format) and bring it to a meeting or mail to the address printed on the form.

To share your lineage, you can also print a pedigree or ancestor chart (PDF format) or (text format) to be submitted with membership form.

One benefit of society membership is the newsletter Echoes Through the Pines distributed to all members at least twice each year.
