Potter Road Cemetery

This small inactive cemetery is located on the north side of Potter Road in the city of Rome. It is one of the older cemeteries in this area and contains the remains of several of the early settlers in the Ridge Mills area. The oldest stone found dates to 1795.

The cemetery is well maintained but many of the old stones are no longer legible. Several stones are on the ground and only partially visible. This transcription was done October 8, 1998 by Kathleen Last and Virginia Ackerman.

Tombstone photos from this cemetery are available on the
New York State Tombstone Project
