Ammann, Frances Finister

Mrs. Frances Ammann, 86, of 822 W. Dominick St., a resident of Rome for 80 years, died Monday April 23, 1979, in Rome Hospital after a brief illness. Born Sept. 10, 1892, in Utica, she was a daughter of John and Catherine Kline Finster. Mrs. Ammann attended Rome schools. On July 16, 1927, she married Frederick J. Ammann in Verona. She was formerly employed by Rome Box and Lumber Co. She was a member of St. Mary's Church. Surviving besides her husband are one son, Earl A. Howard Sr., of Rome, one sister, Mrs. Edward (Marguerite) Smith of Floyd, three brothers, Walter Finster of Lee Center and John Finster and Paul Finster, both of Rome., two grandchildren, Mrs. Peter (Gail) Mumford and Earl Howard Jr., both of Rome, and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 8:15 am Thursday at the Martin J. Nunn Funeral Home and at 9 am in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Frederick J. Ammann, 80, of 822 W. Dominick St., a former reel department employee of Rome Cable, who retired in 1970, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 1986, in Rome Hospital, where he had been hospitalized for the past month. Born in Rome on Nov. 27, 1905, he was the son of Frank and Emma Zimmerman Ammann. He married Frances Finister in Verona on July 16, 1927, She died April 23, 1979. He was a member of St. Mary's Church, the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace workers, the Rome Volunteer Hook and Ladder. Surviving are one step-son, Earl A. Howard Sr., Rome, two step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday at the Prince-Boyd and Hyatt Funeral Home, and at 11 am in St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
