Frank A. Mansfield Sr., 77, of 207 S. Levitt St., died last night in his home. A life-long Rome resident he was ill for almost two years. He was born Aug. 19, 1872 in Rome, a son of Milo and Nettie Wheeler Mansfield. He was employed by the American Can Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1939. Married three times, his first wife, Nettie Mae Carpenter, died in 1906. His second wife, Margaret L. Damuth, died Oct. 22, 1928. He married Flavia Babcock Cleveland Oct. 3, 1930 in Rome. He leaves his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Walter J. Bork, Rome, a step-daughter, Mrs. Donald Lutz, also of Rome, a son, Frank A. Mansfield Jr., and a step-son, Charles Derrick, both of Rome, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Mrs. Nellie Mansfield Wellman died in 1928. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Alice Armstrong, Taberg and Mrs. Bessie Fahey, Rome, and several nieces and nephews.
