Camden- Stanley M. Kent, of 80 Third St., died suddenly Friday evening at his home. He was born Nov. 16, 1911 at Mannsville, NY, son of Earle A. & Nellie R. Brown Kent. He and Edith M. Rathbun were married January 14, 1946 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Harold Gerber, Harden. Blvd., by the Rev. Charles Hess Sr. Mr. Kent came to Camden from Vienna as a boy.
At the time of his death Mr. Kent was head custodian at Camden Central High School. For over 19 years he owned and operated the Kent Cleaners here and also for a time was manager of the Hope Clothing store here.
Mr. Kent was graduated from Camden High School in 1930. He was a member of the First Methodist Church and had been a Sunday School teacher there for years. He was a former member of the Camden Rotary club, having been a charter member. He also was an original member of the Star Boys Sunday School class of the Methodist Church.
Surviving besides his wife are his mother, both of Camden, one daughter, Miss Kathleen Kent, and two sons, Lawrence and Chris M. Kent, all at home, three sisters, Mrs. R. Floyd Clark, Camden, Mrs. Wallace Wolcott, Camden, and Mrs. Charles Hess Jr., Syracuse, one brother H. LaRue Kent, Camden, several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 2 pm from the Sanborn Funeral Home, Camden, with the Rev. Stanley Watson of the first Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
