ONEIDA--Frances V. Brown, 65, of 419 Lake Road, died Thursday afternoon, Sept. 9, 1993, at her home following an illness of several months.
She was born April 11,1928, in Oneida, the daughter of Mabel Harp. A lifelong resident of Oneida, she married Francis O. Brown on October 22, 1950 in Durhamville.
Mrs. Brown was secretary for 34 years with the former Madison County Laboratories, based at the Oneida City Hospital, and was employed with the Madison County Department of Mental Health until her retirement. A 1946 graduate of Oneida High School, she was also a notary public.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Durhamville Baptist Church, a member of the Civil Service Employees Association Local 1000 and was a charter member of the Oneida Chapter of the National Secretaries Association.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Alex F. Brown of Oneida; two daughters, Mrs. John (Franciene) Hall of Oneida and Mrs. Michael (Eileen) Allen of Durhamville; seven grandchildren; five cousins; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Sunday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida, with the Revs. Kenneth Wales, pastor of the Durhamville Baptist Church, and Neil Coe co-officiating. Interment will be made in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Saturday. Contributions in her memory, may be made to Hospice Care Inc. Envelopes for this memorial fund may be obtained at the funeral home.
