Beatrice I. (Bea) Gary, age 71, of 10 Kelly Avenue, Verona, died Monday June 9, 1997, at her residence after a long illness.

She was born November 17, 1925, in Rome, the daughter of Gaylord and Ella Lower Sweatman.

Mrs. Gary was a graduate of Verona High School.

In 1949 she married Elwin E. (Dutch) Waterman in Verona. She later married Vernal M. (Red) Gary on June 25, 1971, in Taberg. He died Feb. 16, 1900. Mrs. Gary was employed at Rome Developmental Center for fifteen years, retiring in 1980, and was previously employed at the A & P and Victory Markets.

She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

Surviving are one daughter, Ms. Donna Gauthier, Camden, one son, Elwin (Al) Waterman Jr., Verona, one stepdaughter, Mrs. Sheilah (Christie) Kittle, Utica, four grandchildren, Brenda Humphrey, Eric Gauthier, Kimberly Gauthier, Crystal Gauthier, three great-grandsons, Brandon Humphrey, Cody Humphrey, and Joshua Humphrey.

Funeral will be Wednesday. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Verona - Vernal M. "Red" Gary, 65, of 10 Kelly Ave., retired employee of Rome Cable Corp., died today, Feb. 16, 1990, at his residence after a long illness.

Mr. Gary was employed for 32 years at Rome Cable, retiring in 1978.

Born July 30, 1924, in Moira, he was a son of Michael J. & Barbara Sullivan Gary. he was a graduate of St. Aloysius Academy, Rome. On June 25, 1971, he married Beatrice Waterman in Taberg. mr. Gary resided in Verona for six years and had previously resided in Rome.

Mr. Gary was a Navy veteran, serving during World War II in the European Theater.

Mr. Gary was a member of St. Peter's Church, Rome.

Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Sheilah (Christine) Kittle, Utica, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Donna Gauthier, Camden, a step-son, Elwin Waterman Jr., Verona, two sisters, Mrs. John (Helen) West and Mrs. Jean Ernenwein, both of Rome, two brothers, Thomas Larkin, Utica, and Terrence Larkin, Rome, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Rome.
