This Carpenter family has been rather elusive. There are many Carpenters in this area but I have been unable to find any connections to Lyman. It appears that Lyman and Mary (Polly) died before 1860 as I did find Cyrus Sr. on the Rome Census for that year. He was unmarried, head of household, and his two brothers and two sisters were living with him.
Tom Hall is also working on this Carpenter family as he is connected thru Washington Carpenter. According to the 2 death certificates he has obtained, one for Cyrus, one for Washington, their mother's maiden name was either Robinson or Robbins.
