UPPER AND LOWER YARDS OF THE UNITARIAN CHURCH TODMORDEN

Surveyed and recorded by members of the

Todmorden Antiquarian Society 2008.

The grave numbers correspond with the church burial book.

The first 25 graves are vaults, the rest are normal graves.

Vault - Sandstone lancet, with scroll work at sides decorated with ivy. Sidestones.

In loving memory of James Wilkinson Greenwood of Raglan Street, Todmorden

who died March 24th 1898 aged 56 years .

In the midst of life we are in death.

A bell ringer at this church for 29 years 1869 -1898

Also Sarah, wife of the above who died April 19th 1914 in her 69th year.

Also John William, son of the above who died Dec. 9th 1918 aged 47 years .

Often weary now at rest.

Born January 31st 1885. Died at St. Annes on Sea, January 19th 1952.

In loving memory of Fanny, wife of Benjamin Midgley

who passed away from this life October 22nd 1906 aged 54 years.

For 43 years a Sunday School teacher and bellringer.

Born Newton Abbott, Devon, June 23rd 1853. Died Joshua St. Todmorden September 2nd 1904.

who died Mar. 11th 1916 at St.Seinols, Llandudno aged 60 years .

For 30 years a bell ringer at this church.

In loving memory of Janie, daughter of James and Mary Crabtree of 50 Patmos,

died Dec. 2nd 1905 aged 22 years .
