A collection of stories and photographs, with comprehensive historical details of some of the mills, iron works, breweries, brick works, rope works, engineering shops, joineries, coal mines etc. in the district, and of the men and women who worked in them. Over 100 different workplaces are covered, including the story of the tragic explosion at Lord Brothers Canal Street Works in 1875. This is an ongoing project, with many more places still to be added.

HISTORY

A collection of illustrated articles and historical documents concerning the lives of the ordinary folk of Todmorden in days gone by. Includes illustrated and detailed stories of selected men who fought in WW1 with a full transcription of the town's WW1 memorial. Also history of the Post Office in Todmorden, coaching days, Reform Day, the growth and development of the textile industry with specific examples, rebellion and riots, and much more.
