Leeds Intelligencer 28th September 1790

Auction 30th October. Messuage called Royd in Stansfield, lately erected with outbuildings and several good cottages. Also 75 days work of land lying contiguous and belonging said messuage; and a spring wood adjoining the land together with a mill lately erected and now used as a cotton factory. Also 2 other sites for mills or machinery works with sufficient falls of water. Thomas Sutcliffe, the occupier, or George Stansfield of Holebottom in Stansfield will show the premises. Further particulars from John Sutcliffe of Stansfield Hall; William Ingham of Haugh in Langfield; Nathan Wainhouse of Skircoat or the said George Stansfield, trustees for sale of the said estate, or of Robert Alcock, attorney at law, Mayroyd.
