State of Tennessee / Wilson County

Know all men by these presents, that I L.C. McWhirter of the county and State aforesaid for and in consideration of six hundred dollars to him in hand paid, hath this day bargained and sold and do hereby confirm unto Thomas E. Everett of the county and state above named, a negro boy by the name of Benaged about fifteen or sixteen. I warrant the said boy to be sound healthy and sensible, and a legal slave for life, and do hereby covenant to secure him against any claim or all claims whatsoever beyond the present contract.

Given under my hand and seal this 26th day of April 1839.
