Watauga Association of Genealogists-Northeast Tennessee (WAGS) was organized in 1971 and published the first BULLETIN May 1972. The BULLETIN is devoted to copies and abstracts of original source data relating to Tennessee and adjacent areas. The Association publishes the BULLETIN semi-annually - April and October.

GOALS OF THE ASSOCIATION

* Preserve all types of early records

* Encourage genealogical and historical research.

* Purchase genealogical materials to be donated to the Johnson City Public Library.

* Encourage persons researching the same family lines to place a query in the Bulletin.

* Compile two issues of the Bulletin each year for subscribing members.

* Maintain an active exchange program with other genealogical associations.
