I, Lorenzo Saunders being of sound mind and knowing the uncertainly of life, and the certainly of death, do make this my last Will and Testament. hereby revoking and making void all other Wills by me at any time made.

I direct that my funeral expenses and all my debts may be paid out of any money that I may have at my death.

Secondly, My three daughters, Sarah E. Gibson, Mary F. Mathews and Lucy Smith, having all their interest in & to the tract of land to my two sons Seth P. and George Saunders and George W. Saunders being dead, I direct that the lots marked 1 and 3. of my tract of land be sold at my death and the note that M.F. Mathews holds against George W. Saunders be paid and the remaining to be equally divided between my grand children, Clemintene, Floran? (Florence?), and Johnetter Saunders.

Thirdly; I appoint and name Richard L. Smith executor, to carry out and attend to my last Will and testament. This May 12 1878.

Sumner County Court Oct Term 1879
The last Will and testament of Lorenzo Saunders dec'd was this day produced in open Court for probate and was duly proven by the oathes of O.D. Willis and M.E. Willis subscribing witnesses thereto, which was received by the Court and ordered to be recorded. Richard L. Smith the executor named in the will appeared in open Court and accepted the executor of the same. Whereupon the said Richard L. Smith together with his securities, O.D. Willis and M.E. Willis appeared in open Court and entered into and acknowledged their bond to the State of Tennessee in the penal sum of one thousand dollars conditioned as the said law requires and the said Richard L. Smith as executor aforesaid was duly qualified.
