In the name of God Amen: I, Edward Boyers of Gallatin Sumner County Tenn. Being of sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of life, do hereby make and declare this to be my last will and testament:

First; After all my lawful debts are paid, I give and bequeath unto my wife Minerva Boyers the lot and house thereon with improvements, on which I now live in Gallatin, Known as lot No.__ ? and bounded by the lot formerly owned by Green Garrett on the East, on the North by the center of the branch, on the West by the Patterson lot, and on the South by Bledsoe St., being the same to which I have a quit claim deed from Thomas Boyers and others, dated Feby [sic] 18, 1868 and registered in Register's office Feby [sic] 29, 1868. I also bequeath unto my wife Minerva all of my house hold and Kitchen furniture, beds and bedding and personal property, of every Kind whatever, and debts that may be owning to me.

The above bequest of all of my real and personal estate is made to her during her natural life, if she should survive me, and after her death it is my will that my daughter Betty Boyers, formerly Betty Terry, shall inherit my entire real and personal estate to the exclusion of all others, she having been the only one of my children who have contributed their labor to my comfort and that of my wife in our old age. I further will and direct that my adopted son Charles Boyers shall have a home at the house until he attains his [pg. 421]majority. I hereby appoint my wife Minerva Boyers my Executrix and direct that no bond shall be required of her in the execution of this will. This the 18th day of June 1873.
