Both bones broken in left leg below knee, artery severed. Wounded at Hoover's Gap, Tenn. July 23, 1863, in left leg. Wounded at Utoy's Creek, near Atlanta, Ga. Aug. 6, 1864.

Joseph P. Tyree - Capt. who succeeded Bate. Killed at Shiloh, April 6, 1862.

Lycurqus Charlton - 1st Lt. Capt. April 10, 1862 succeeding Tyree. Wounded at Shiloh April 6, 1862. Relieved from command order Gen. Cleburne. Ordered to report to Inspector General for limited duty. Arm lost.

John W. House - 2nd Corp. Bvt. 2nd Lt. April 10, 1862. Capt. December 16, 1862 replacing Charlton. Wounded severely in hip at Murfreesboro, Dec. 31, 1862. Left in hospital on Bragg's retreat. Captured there Jan. 5, 1863. Sent to City Point, Va. then to Ft. McHenry, Md. Exchanged April 13, 1863. Resigned March 2, 1964.

Daniel S. Stuart - 2nd Lt. Sent back from Virginia to Tennessee for clothing. Resigned April 10, 1862.

Abraham B. Schell - 3rd Lt. Bvt. 2nd Lt. 1st Lt. April 10, 1862 replacing Charlton. Wounded at Perryville, Ky. while commanding company. Here in Lt. Schell we see the spirit of adventure so prevalent among southern boys. He served with both Forrest and Morgan as a volunteer and was captured on Morgan's Ohio Raid at Golqotte, Ohio.

George W. Barkely - 1st. Sgt. Killed at Shiloh April 6, 1862.

Green B. Williams - 2nd Sgt. Died in Hospital at Atlanta, Ga. Feb. 10, 1863. of Chronic Diarrhea.

Dr. Theophilius J. Holder - 3rd Sgt. Wounded and captured at Richmond, Ky. Aug. 10, 1862. Exchanged Nov. 29, 1862. Wounded at Chickamauga, Ga. on Sept. 20, 1863. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. April 25, 1865.

James Bryson Malone - 4th Sgt., 2nd Sgt. Wounded at Chickamauga, Ga. Sept. 20, 1863 by grape shot through both legs. Left on field for dead. Between firing lines for seven hours. Sent to hospital at Forsythe, Ga. Discharged on disability April 3. 1864. On the Confederate Roll of Honor. In battles at Aquia Creek, Va., Shiloh, Tenn., Richmond, Ky., Perryville, Ky., Murfreesboro, Tenn., Decherd, Tenn., and Chickamauga, Ga.

Richard G. Merritt - 1st Corp. Made Color Bearer April 10, 1862. Detailed as Tailor for Gen. Johnson. Captured at Franklin, Tenn. Dec. 14, 1864 on Hood's retreat. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.

Crabb, John F.- Sharpshooter. In all battles of regiment from Manassas to Bentonville. Left regiment and enlisted in Co. A, 9th Cavalry Sept. 1, 1862. Then back to this company. In hand to hand fighting at Decherd, Tenn. was struck across back by Yankee soldier permanently injuring back. Wounded four times, all in this company. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. May 11, 1865. Curran, Lawrence - Deserted at Chattanooga. Gave himself up to be released at Gallatin upon taking oath. Deserted Sept. 10, 1863.

Denning, John E. - Enlisted at Gallatin April 25, 1861 for three years. Was hired as a substitute James Sanford. Sanford entered the service himself and Denning trans. to Co. D, 7th Cavalry Battalion.

Dobbins, Hamilton - Died in hospital at Columbus, Miss. June 4, 1862.

Dobbins, John M. - Wounded at Richmond, Ky. Aug. 30, 1862. Died from wound on Sept. 23, 1862.

Durham, John M. - 4th Corp. April 10, 1862. 1st Corp. Feb. 23, 1863. Wounded at Perryville, Ky. Oct. 8, 1862 and left there. Captured there. Sent to City Point, Va. then to Fortress Monroe, Va. Exchanged. Captured at Atlanta, Ga. July 29, 1864. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.

Fletcher, George H. - Captured at Gallatin Jan. 18, 1863. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Exchanged. Paroled at Citronelle, Ala. May 12, 1865 from a cavalry command not given.

Freedle, Orville H. - In battle of Bull Run or Manassas, Va. July 21, 1861. Had been in hospital at Lynchburg, Va. May 14, 1861 with Typhoid Fever. Discharged on disability from Typhoid in Dec. 1861. Went home. Arrested by U.S. forces. Carried to Nashville. Kept for two months. Refused to take the oath. Still in bad health, was allowed to go home. Enlisted in Co. C, 9th Tennessee Cavalry, see also.

Glasgow, John W. - Detailed as Ambulance driver. Wounded at Shiloh April 6, 1862 in right arm near shoulder. Sent to hospital at Columbus, Miss. Arm amputated. Discharged on disability.

Glover, Joseph P. - Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. May 2, 1865.

Gosey, Fountain P. - Detailed as Saddle Maker. Sick in hospital for six months. Deserted.

Thomas J. Henley - 4th Sgt. Then made 1st Sgt. Mar. 1, 1864. Discharged on disability on Oct. 13, 1864. Enlisted in Co. K,. K, 8th Tennessee Cavalry. From the very confused records on this veteran it would seem that he made 4th Sgt. in this company, served in Baxter Smith's 8th Cavalry which was organized Nov. 24, 1862. but annulled. Organized again Jan. 23, 1863 and was there made 1st Sgt. It does not state from which regiment he was discharged on disability in Oct. 1864.

House, William T. - Detailed as Brigade Forage Master. Oath at Nashville Feb. 23, 1865.

Hubbard, Joseph H. - Judge Advocate for Regiment. Wounded at Fredericksburg, Va. Dec. 13, 1862. Ball broke arm, entered side, came out near back bone. Seven pieces of bone worked out of arm which perished to half size. Captured on battlefield. Carried to Camp Chase, Ohio. Paroled at Camp Chase end of war.

Hurst, John - Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. May 1, 1865.

Left arm and shoulder perrmanently disabled. Discharged on disability at Knoxville. Went home. Captured by U. S. soldiers. Forced by Gen. Payne at Gallatin to take oath or go to a northern prison. Oath.

Joyner, William S. - Detailed as Teamster on Feb. 22, 1864.

Key, James H. - Discharged on disability Oct. 13, 1861.

Lindsey, Benjamin - Captured on Jan. 31, 1863 and sent to City Point, Va.

Love, Andrew J. - Wounded at Shiloh, April 6, 1862. Died of wound April 15, 1862.

Lowe, James D. - Left sick at Murfreesboro when Bragg retreated. Died in March 1862.

Mackey, Frederick G. - Detailed to Arsenal Works at Columbus, Miss. under order of Gen. Bragg. Then to Arsenal at Arkadelphia, Ark. Paroled at Shreveport, La. June 13, 1865.

Meness, Henry B. - 1st Corp. May 1, 1861. 4th Sgt. on Jan. 1, 1864. In battles at Murfreesboro, Perryville, Chickamauga. Slight flesh wound at Perryville. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. in May 1865.

Mathews, John C. - Deserted.

McNeil, Joseph B. B. - 1st Sgt. Feb. 25, 1863. In battles at Manassas, Shiloh, Richmond, Perryville, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Ringgold Gap, Dalton, Atlanta, Reseca, Marietta, Pine Mountain, Jonesboro, Franklin and second Murfreesboro in 1864. Wounded at Chickamauga, in left arm Sept. 20, 1863. Hospital one month at Marietta and LaGrange, Ga. Wounded in left foot by mini ball at Richmond, Ky. Aug. 30, 1862. Five wounds in all. Given furlough to go home and get clothing from Murfreesboro Dec. 12, 1864. Army retreated after battle of Nashville. Could not get back. Captured March 15, 1865. In prison in the Court House in Gallatin until March 26, 1865. Oath forced by Gen. Payne or go to prison.

Moody, James A. - In all battles to and including Murfreesboro. Struck in back of head by shell fragment at Murfreesboro, Dec. 31, 1862 and left on field for dead. Hospital at Huntsville, Ala. for two months. Then two months at Ringgold, Ga. Furloughed at Franklin, Tenn. to go home for clothing. Unable to rejoin regiment. Captured and forced by Gen. Payne to take the oath.

Moody, John W. - Trans. from Day's unlettered company of 55th Tennessee Infantry March. 10, 1862. Wounded at Perryville, Ky. Sept. 9, 1862. Died from wounds. Never paid.

Reese, Rufus Morgan - 1st Corp. April 10, 1862. Wounded severely at Richmond, Ky. Aug. 30, 1862. Detailed as Ambulance driver Dec. 20, 1862, order Gen. Cleburne. Then detailed as Ambulance driver in Gen. Polk's Brigade. Then detailed as Hospital Nurse. Discharged on disability Jan. 4, 1864.

Sanford, James R. - 5th Sgt. July 5, 1863. Enlisted at Gallatin April 25, 1861, for three years or the duration. Detailed as Wagon Driver. Pay 33 cents per day. Captured at Tyner's Station near Chattanooga. Esaped. Shown present to Feb. 29, 1864. See Co. E, 24th Infantry.

Sindle, Robert Henry - 2nd Lt.April 10, 1862. Wounded twice at Richmond, Ky Aug. 30, 1862. Mini ball through right leg and minnie ball in left hip. Wounded in right arm at Chickamauga, Ga. Sept. 19, 1863. Bone shattered. Arm amputated. Detailed at Post Duty as unfit for active service. Paroled Greensboro, N. C. May 1, 1865.

Smith, John W. - Prior service in Co. C, 30th Tennessee Infantry see also. Wounded at Murfreesboro in Gen. Breckinridge's famous charge Jan. 2, 1863. In hospital at Chattanooga for 9 months. Wounded at Reseca, Ga May 13, 1864. Sent to hospital at Catoosa Springs, Ga then to hospital at Augusta, Georgia. On detached duty as unfit for regular duty.

Vaughn, Henry B., Jr. - In lunatic asylum at Milledgeville, Ga. Then back to duty July 1, 1863. Captured at Nashville Dec. 16, 1864. Sent to Camp Chase, Ohio.

Wallace, Elmore D. - Enlisted April 25, 1861. In battles at Shiloh , Richmond , Perryville , Murfreesboro, Chickamauga, Ringgold Gap, Jonesboro, Franklin and Bentonville, N. C. Wounded slightly in calf of right leg at Jonesboro, Ga. May 16, 1864. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. May 1, 1865. From Buck Lodge, Tenn.

Wells, W. E. - Deserted on retreat from Tullahoma, April 22, 1863.

Winham, William L. - Trans. to this company from the 4th Tennessee Infantry with the rank of Sgt. April 10, 1862. Paroled at Greensboro, N. C. May 1, 1865.

Wilson, Samuel F. - In battles at Shiloh, Richmond, Murfreesboro, and Chickamauga. Wounded slightly at Richmond, Ky. Lost finger. Wounded severely in foot at Murfreesboro. Wounded severely at Chickamauga, sent to hospital at Atlanta, Ga. Left hand amputated. Discharged on disability Oct. 31, 1863.

Winn George W. - Detailed as Teamster. Detailed ambulance driver Oct. 22, 1862. Died on Sept. 27, 1864.
