This Indenture, made this      day of November in the year of our lord one thousand seven Hundred & Ninety six between WILIAM MARTIN of the County of Pendleton & State of South Carolina of the one part, & ANDREW JACKSON of the County of Davidson & State of Tennessee of the other opart Witnesseth that the said WILLIAM MARTIN for & in consideration of the sum of Eight Hundred Dollars to him in hand paid by the said ANDREW before the Sealing & Delivery of these presents,  the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged & the said ANDREW thereof aquited hath & by these presents doth bargain & Sell, allien enfeoff, & confirm, unto the sd ANDREW JACKSON his hiersd and assignes fovea, a certain tract or parcel of land Containig Six Hundred & forty acres, be the same more or less lying & being inn the County of Davidson & State aforesaid  on the waters of Stones River Begining at a white oak Hickory Dogwood about one hundred yards from overalls creek on COL. JAMES ARMSTRONGS East boundary thence alon his line two hundred and twenty six poles to three Cherry trees & elm thence East four hundred & fifty two poles to a stake thenceNorth two hundred & twenty six poles to a stake thence north two hundred & twenty Sixpoles to a Stake thence west four hundred and fifty two poles to the Begining, being a tract of land Granted by the State of North Carolina by patent No two hundred & Sixty one to JOSEPH MARTIN, with all & Singular the woods, waters, water Courses profits Commodities heriditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said tract of land Belonging orappertaining & all the Estate Right title Intrust property Claim & Demand of him the saidWILLIAM MARTIN his hiers & c of & to the same. & Every part & parcel thereof either in law or Equity To Have & to Hold the said Six Hundred & forty acres of land with the appurtenances to the sd ANDREW JACKSON his hiers & assignes forever & the Said WILLIAM MARTIN for him & his hiers doth Covenenat & agree to & with the said ANDREW his hiers and assignes that he and they the land & premices hereby Intended to be conveyed to him & them will warent & forever Defend against the lawfull title claim & Demand of all & every parson or maner of Parsons whatsoever In Witness whereof he the sd WILLIAM MARTIN hath herunto set his hand and Seal the day & date above Written & In presence of
