Know all that we John A. Bruce & A. M. Bruce, S. L. Bruce and Adaline Bruce, James R. Perry & Elizabeth C. Warren have this day sold and conveyed to Wm. H. Draper for and in consideration of ____ hundred Sixty dollars & other lands valued at four hundred dollars the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged all of our right, title and interest to the tract of land known as the Thos. Perry lands on which the said William now lives lying on the waters of Madison Creek & in the 6th Civil District of Sumner County Tenn. Conveyed to Sallie Perry by her father Jess Joyner adjoining the land of T. Comb, M. J. Patton & others. We bind ourselves and our heirs to warrant and defend the title to the said Wm. H. Draper his heirs and assigns against the claims of all persons in witness whereof we have this day signed our names and affixed our seals on this November the 8th 1880.

You are hereby authorized and empowered to take the examination of Mrs. Artamisia Bruce wife of Jno A. Bruce and Adeline Bruce, wife of S. L. Bruce, privately and apart from her husband relative to the free execution of the annexed deed, and the same, so taken, to certify under hour hand and seal givenunder my hand at office 30 day May 1881.

Mrs. Artamisia Bruce, wife of John A. Bruce, and Adaline Bruce, wife of S. L. Bruce, having personally appeared before me and having by virtue of the authority in me vested been examined privately and apart from her said husbands and they having acknowledged the due execution of the annexed deed by them freely, voluntarily, and understandingly, without compulsion or constraint by their said husbands and for the purposes therein contained, the same is therefore certified.
