I Benjamin Roney have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer & convey to H.J. Pitt and his heirs forever for the consideration of Two hundred dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Sumner County and District No.18 containing by estimation One hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows: Beginning at Len Hall's North East corner on a cherry tree thence West 150 poles to a post oak thence North 107 poles to a stake thence East 150 poles to a stake thence South 107 poles to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said H.J. Pitt his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title of said land to H.J. Pitt his heirs and assigns forever against any claim made by myself or any person claiming through or under me but no farther this 19th day of July 1849.

Personally appeared before me William S. Munday Clerk of the County Court of said County Benjamin Roney the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the within Deed for the Purposes therein contained.
