I Robert Pitt have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to Benjamin Roney and his heirs forever for the consideration of One hundred dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Sumner County and District No. 18 containing by estimation One hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows: Beginning on a Cherry tree Elias M. Hall's North East corner Standing on the West of Sharpe's fork of Red River thence West One hundred & fifty poles to a Post oak, another corner of said Hall, thence North with Pates line 107 poles to a stake in Pates line, thence East One hundred & fifty poles to a stake in Purcel's line, thence South to the beginning. To have and to hold the same to the said Benjamin Roney his heirs assigns forever. I do covenant with the said Benjamin Roney that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it, and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land and every part thereof to the said Benjamin Roney his heirs and assings against the lawful claims of all persons whatever. Given under my hand & seal this 4th day of Dec'r 1848.

Personally appeared before me Wm. S. Munday Clerk of the County Court of said County Robert Pitt the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the above deed for the purposes therein contained. Witness my hand at Office this 4th day of December 1848.
