Know all men by these presents that I James Roney Senr of the County of Sumner & State of Tennessee am held and firmly bound to Daniel Mulloy of he County of Robertson & State aforesaid in the penal Sum of Five hundred & fifty dollars which payment will and truly to be made. I bind myself my heirs Executors & Administrators severally & firmly by these Presents this 26th day of Decr 1840. The condition of the above obligation is such that if the said James Roney doth make to the said Mulloy or his assigns within six months from this date a general warranty Deed to One hundred acres of land in Sumner County aforesaid on the ridge on the Waters of Red River and bounded as follows: to wit Beginning on a line between S.H. Turner and said Roney at a large shell barked hickory, thence Eastwardly with said line to the Eastern boundary line of the Original tract, thence South so far as to include one hundred acres including the house in which John Wilkerson now lives, then the above obligation to be void and of no effect otherwise to remain in full force and virtue in law. Signed with my hand with my Seal affixed, the day & date above written.

State of Tennessee Sumner County
Personally appeared before me Wm. S. Munday Clerk of the County Court of said County Jack Link a subscribing witness to the within title Bond, who being first sworn deposes and says that he was personally acquainted with James Roney the obliger and that he acknowledged the execution of the same in his presence to be his act and deed upon the day it bears date and for the purposes therein Contained And it having been duly made to appear that Seaton H. Turner the other subscribing witness thereto is dead his hand writing is therefore proved by the oath of Stephen H. Turner and Benjamin Roney who being first sworn depose and say that they are well acquainted with the hand writing of he said Seaton H. Turner having often seen him right and that they verily believe the written subscribed Signature purporting to be his is his genuine Signature. Witness my hand at Office the 3rd day of February 1847.
