Know all men by these presents that I Daniel O. Montgomery of
said State and County for and in Consideration of Six thousand $6000.00 to me in hand paid the
Receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained sold and convey to Alex'r
Stark of said State and County as aforesaid in fee simple all my title Right and interest in and to
the tract of land on which I now live except the fifty acres mortgaged to Mrs. Margaret L.
Montgomery said and being and situated in said State of Tennessee and County of Sumner and
containing two hundred acres more or less and bounded as follows on the North by the lands of
Samuel & Hugh Kirkpatrick on the East by the lands of John Clendening Esqr and South by J. R.
Hutchinson and West by Jeff Montgomery and Hugh Kirkkpatrick. To ___ ___ to said Alex'r
Stark his heirs and assigns. To have and to hold forever in fee simple I do covenant with the said
Alex'r Stark that I am lawfully seized and possessed of said land that I have a perfect and legal
right to convey the same and that the same is unincumbered and I do furthermore bind myself my
heirs and representatiaves to forever warrant and defend the title to said land to the said Alex'r
Stark his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever given
under my hand and seal this 22nd day of February 1872.

Personally appeared before me Jesse Cage, Clerk of the County
Court of said County, D. O. Montgomery the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted &
who acknowledged the execution of the within deed for the purposes therein contained. Witness
my hand at office this the 22nd day of February 1872.
