Riddleton School - Haywood Academy - 1894
This old photograph was loaned to me by Dennis Bowman.
The date written on it is 1894 and the only persons identified are, James S. Beasley,
Principal, Miss Minnie High, Assistant and Miss Gladys Young, piano teacher. This
building, which served the community from about 1880 to about 1950 is located in
the village of Riddleton at the cornerof Cages Bend Road and is at present being used
as a church. Notice the piano in one of the upstairs windows.
Can anyone recognize an ancestor in this picture?
As mentioned above today this building survives as a church, Riddleton Grace Baptist church.
