William Taylor Smith & Mary Susan Parker Smith
him, although through Census records, I believe his parents to be Jesse and
Melinda Smith. I have been unable to find a death date or place for William,
although it was probably between 1920 and 1930 in Pontotoc or Pottawatomie Co., OK.
Mary Susan Parker was born in TN or KY 2 Jan 1855. I know little about her,
either, but, also through Census records, I believe her parents to be John
F. Parker and Matilda Payne. Susie died in Pontotoc Co., OK 19 Aug 1904,
following surgery in her home for the removal of a tumor. She is buried in
Old Ada Cemetery, Pontotoc Co., OK.
The Smiths appear to have lived in the part of Smith Co. that became Trousdale Co.
They moved to Pottawatomie Co., OK in 1901, along with their children, including
my grandparents, Charlie Franklin Smith and Jettie Key Smith. I have been unable
to learn much about them and would welcome any information.
