Captain George C. Moore

Capt. George was a farmer and school teacher in his later years.
George Clark Moore born in Smith County 8 Nov 1832, eldest child of Gregory Moore
(b 15 Dec 1807 - d abt 16 June 1880) and Arra Anna Clark (b 17 Oct 1811, d 10 July 1865).
Capt. George taught school at the Rural Academy School

Capt. George returned home after the war and married Louisiana Antoinette Smith of New
Middleton b 5 Mar 1837. Louisiana Antoinette (called Miss Lou-shan, then Miss Shan)
was the daughter of Josiah Ramsey Smith and Barthena Cloud Smith of New Middleton.
Louisiana Antoinette Smith Moore died in 1908. She had a hemorrhage of some type as
she was mounting a horse. The children from Capt. George's marriage:
Bartie (Barthena) Moore (1872-1959)
Mary Moore (1874-1965) m. Jack Bradford
Kate Moore (1877-1923)
Gordon Clark Moore (1879-1969) m. Annie Lee Goodall (1883-1979)
Of the four, only two married and only one had children.
