Benjamin Merrill Davis (c1791 NC - c1875 Smith County) married 6 August 1817 at
Round Lick, Wilson County TN Casander H--- Taylor (c1800 TN - c1874 Smith County)

1. James H. Davis, born 20 October 1818 at Carthage, Smith County, TN. Married to
Euphemia Jane F. Davis about 1843. Died 6 May 1888 at Brush Creek.

2. John Davis, born about 1819 at Carthage, Smith County.

3. Arthur Nathan "Att" Davis born 12 March 1823 at Carthage. Married to Eliza Ann
Newman 19 November 1847 at Greenville, Muhlenberg County, KY. Died 9 March 1868,
Greenville, KY. (The informant is descended from his son the Rev. Britton Alexander
Davis 1858-1896.)

4. Elizabeth "Sarah" Davis, born about 1824 at Brush Creek, Smith, TN. Married to
Barclay or Bartley Kyle. Died before 1867 in Muhlenberg County, KY.

5. Nancy Davis, born about 1825 at Brush Creek. Married to A. S. Allen,
a stonemason, about 1848.

6. Margaret Davis, born about 1827 at Brush Creek. Married to Elijah Smith.

7. William Britten Davis, born 10 January 1829 at Brush Creek. Married to Ann L.
Allison on 11 January 1859 at Greenville, Muhlenberg, KY. Died 14 February 1916
at greenville, Muhlenberg, KY.

8. Benjamin C. Davis, born 21 February 1831 at Brush Creek. Married to Susan Stone.
Died 11 April 1874 at Greenville, Muhlenberg, KY

9. A. Ross Davis, born about 1835 at Brush Creek.

10. Mary Frances "Fanny" Davis, born about 1836, Brush Creek. Married (1) John B.
Simpson in 1862, who was killed during Civil War, and (2) Leroy B. Apple on 20
October 1873 in Smith Co. TN.

11. Jerome McCalister "Mack" Davis, born 11 November 1838 at Brush Creek. Married
(1) Sarah Elizabeth "Bettie" Harrison, 18 September 1866, (2) Emily J. Haddock,
12 September 1872, (3) America Frances "Meccie" Wilkins 23 December 1879. Died
31 January 1938 at Hopkinsville, Christian County, KY

12. Robert Thomas Davis, born about 1840, Brush Creek.
Killed in KY during the Civil War, 1864.
