Dixon Springs Union Church
The Dixon Springs Union Church was built in 1878. It was used by the Christian Church and later by the
Church of Christ. After the Church of Christ ceased using it in the 1960's Baptist minister R.D. Brooks
lead a major repair of the building. The Baptist held services for a time afterwards but later abandon it.

The main road from Carthage to Hartsville once ran thru Dixon Springs and in front of this church.
probably 30 years ago they built a new road which is several hundred yards east of the old part of
Dixon Springs. TVA did a book on the old houses and buildings of Dixon Springs.

Happy Valley
This 1905 photo was taken in Dixon Springs uphill from the Union Church looking west toward
Hartsville. It was labeled Happy Valley in my grandmother's handwriting.
